Bottom right: Attempting to extinguish a Pokémon Monster Ball with the same color light

Thank you for using our LED floodlights as a teaching material.
Also, thank you for your courteous response to our request for a classroom interview despite your busy schedule.
Please tell me a little about Pokémon Global Academy.

Shoko Kajitani
Thank you for coming to the classroom today.
Pokémon Global Academy is now in its sixth year.
The first year elementary school children who joined when the school first opened are now in their sixth year and have
become like caring teachers (laughs).
We currently have two schools with approximately 250 children enrolled.
This classroom provides a new place for "learning" that combines the "safe and secure child-care services" of existing
after-school care programs with our unique "educational program for the real world".
Through various experiences, we share with our children an image of the kind of people we want to nurture and set this
as a common goal.

This includes three key characteristics:
[People who can think and act for themselves]
[People who recognize and value differences]
[People who can care and empathize with others]

Through these activities, it is our hope that the children can learn the skills to increase their presence in a group
setting.

Thank you. Those are very clear goals.
I can imagine that there would be some children who want to enroll because of the association with Pokémon.

Shoko Kajitani
Yes that’s right. There are children who like the Pocket Monsters and those who are indifferent, but by spending time
together, Pokémon becomes something they all enjoy.
Pokémon plays a role in creating a fun space as something the children can grow to love.

I can imagine that this is something unique to Pokémon, a character that children love.
Can you tell me a little about the background behind how our LED floodlights were chosen as a teaching material?

Shoko Kajitani
With the cooperation of a variety of businesses, we offer interactive programs that enable children to come into contact with "things from the real world".
One of our main themes is creating contact points with the real world and we have a lineup of themes each month to encourage children to hold an interest in what lies on the other side of daily life and work. We have been thinking for some time how we could place a focus on "light", something that children are constantly seeing in their day-to-day lives.

I am very happy to hear that light was chosen as one of your themes and that the Stanley Electric’s LED floodlights were able to be incorporated into that.
I was very surprised to see the material of the floodlight broken down and made into educational material.

As you saw today, the children were very interested in the operation of the equipment, with some of them wanting to do more. I believe that because we were able to borrow real equipment it was an extremely valuable experience for the children.

In particular the children enjoyed mixing the different color lights using the full color floodlight. They were amazed at how the beam of the linear lighting would spread and how intense the light was compared to the pen light. They also enjoyed combining the two to illuminate everyday objects. I think there were also a large number of children who didn’t know that white light is formed by mixing colors.

I could see the children’s eyes light up with excitement just standing next to them.

Shoko Kajitani
Thank you.
I heard that Stanley Electric also has car lights that contribute to road safety and invisible ultraviolet products, so if possible, I would like to use them as teaching materials in the future.

Yes, that would be great.
Ms. Kajitani, I would like to see you continue to provide a range of interactive learning experiences to the children here.
Thank you very much for your time today.
